Chiropractic Care for Sciatica

Almost half of the population will experience the shooting pain of sciatica at some point in their lives. But just because sciatica is common doesn’t mean that it’s normal.

If you suffer from sciatic pain, you know how disruptive it can be to your daily life.

Fortunately, you don’t have to simply “suffer through it.” Chiropractic care could be the answer you’re looking for.

Unlike traditional medicine, the goal of chiropractic treatment isn’t to mask your symptoms, but to treat the underlying condition. If a joint misalignment is to blame for your sciatica, taking a painkiller isn’t going to help in the long-term.

At Lakes Chiropractic & Wellness, we’ve helped many patients find relief from debilitating sciatica symptoms so they can get back to their everyday, pain-free life.

Your first appointment will start with a full examination to determine the root cause of your pain, using our in-office X-ray if required.

We will then develop a treatment plan catered to your specific anatomy, designed to relieve pressure on the nerve.

Chiropractic care is holistic in nature, which means it focuses on your body as whole. By restoring your joints to their natural state, your body can heal itself naturally, allowing you to live symptom-free

What Is Sciatica?

Sciatica is a painful condition caused by irritation or inflammation of the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back and down each leg.

When your joints and muscles are properly aligned, this nerve can function normally.

But occasionally, a herniated disc, bone spur, or even pregnancy can apply undue pressure to the nerve, causing uncomfortable symptoms in the hips, buttocks, legs, or feet.

Poor posture, prolonged sitting, and improper lifting are all everyday things that can lead to sciatica.

The pain may start slowly and may get worse during certain activities like sleeping, walking, coughing, and more.
