Chiropractic Care for Headaches & Migraines

Headaches are one of the most common complaints for U.S. adults, affecting roughly three out of every four people.

For most, treating headaches rarely involves anything more than taking a couple pills and waiting for the pain to subside. But if you find yourself reaching for the painkillers on a regular basis, you could be doing yourself more harm than good.

Luckily, there’s a more effective option: chiropractic care!

At Lakes Chiropractic & Wellness, we offer holistic treatment of headaches, migraines, and other types of pain so you can get back to living pain-free.

Pain—including a headache—is the body’s way of alerting us that something is wrong. Ignoring a headache is a lot like ignoring the check engine light on your car.

Eventually, the problem will become so big that you have to address it.

Chiropractic aims to treat headaches at their source (not just mask the symptoms), providing you with long-lasting pain relief. Tension headaches in particular can be caused by spinal misalignment putting undue pressure on your head.

If you’re suffering from regular headaches, it’s time to seek medical attention to find the true cause of your headaches and get on the road to recovery.

Get Lasting Relief Without Medication

Chiropractic adjustments treat your pain at its source. By treating your condition and not just your symptoms, we help your body work the way it’s supposed to.

The Difference Between Migraines and Headaches

Headaches can stem from a wide variety of causes, from dehydration to allergic reactions. Unfortunately, this leads many people to believe that headaches are “normal.”

Many types of headaches are known as “referred pain.” This is when an issue in one area of the body causes you to feel pain in another area of the body.

If you’re feeling a recurrent, throbbing pain on one side of the head however, this is more likely a migraine than it is a regular headache.

Migraines are also a neurological disorder with a complex set of symptoms while standard or tension headaches are a more mild and general discomfort caused by muscle tension or stress.

If you find yourself suffering from migraines, seeking medical attention as soon as possible is crucial to getting your life back on track.
